(I am crazybusy this week so this is just a quick note)

I’m staying at the house of a quite amazing artist. Every so often I notice another bit of art, or a fascinating detail–how something was constructed, for instance, in a way much more complex and subtle than I’d first noticed.
The coatrack, for example. When first I hung my coat up I thought ‘how cute, the hook is the trunk of an elephant.’ But I have since come to realize that the coat rack depicts the Yukon river and the landscape around Whitehorse in prehistory, and the hooks are not purple elephants but some kind of wooly mammoth. Pretty neat, eh?

The artist is Tanya Handley
